Saudi Arabia and Egypt: Ensuring Security and Freedom of Navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman affirmed their countries’ firm commitment to ensuring freedom and security of maritime navigation in the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, as well as in the Red Sea. The Egyptian presidential spokesperson said yesterday that the talks addressed regional developments and current challenges, with President el-Sisi emphasizing Egypt’s support for the measures undertaken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security and stability, and to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
