Ministry of Education Participates in Gulf Preparatory Meeting to Discuss Unifying the Education System and Gifted Initiatives

Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Khaled Al-Rashid participated in a preparatory meeting of the deputy ministers of education from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries ahead of the tenth meeting of the GCC Ministers of Education Council, to discuss several items on the agenda.
The Ministry of Education stated in a statement on Monday that the virtual meeting was chaired by Nawal Al-Khatir, Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain and president of the current session, with the participation of deputy ministers of education from the GCC countries, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the GCC Secretariat General Khaled Al-Sanidi, and Director General of the Arab Educational Bureau for the Gulf Countries Dr. Mohammed Al-Muqbil.
It added that the agenda included Kuwait’s initiative to unify the education system in GCC countries and its initiative regarding the GCC school sports league, as well as the program for competitions among Gulf students.
The statement noted that the meeting also discussed the GCC strategy to combat drugs and Kuwait’s initiative on student and teacher exchange for gifted students and outstanding teachers, in addition to the topic of strategic transformation in general education, along with several other matters related to enhancing cooperation and joint coordination among the education ministries of the GCC countries.
It further added that the meeting addressed several common GCC educational files, most notably the development of the work of the Arab Educational Bureau for the Gulf Countries and the GCC Education Strategy for the period 2026–2030, as well as discussions on matters related to technical and vocational education, planning, coordination, and follow-up.
It pointed out that the participants also discussed updates on the implementation of the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals concerning education, as well as topics related to scouting and guiding, instilling financial literacy among students, international cooperation, and joint procurement of educational materials, systems, and equipment.
