Meteorology Authority: Hot and humid weather over the weekend

The Meteorology Department has forecast that Kuwait’s weather will generally be hot and relatively humid along the coast during the day and warm to mild and relatively humid at night over the weekend, due to the influence of hot and humid winds.

Speaking to KUNA yesterday, Acting Director of the Department, Derrar Al-Ali, said that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is affected by an extension of the Indian monsoon low, accompanied by a hot and relatively humid air mass, particularly in coastal areas. Winds are expected to be variable, shifting from southeasterly to northwesterly, with light to moderate speeds.

Al-Ali added that on Friday daytime, conditions will be hot and relatively humid along the coastal regions, with variable winds shifting to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 30 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 44 to 46 degrees Celsius, while sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 4 feet.

He noted that nighttime weather will be warm to mild and relatively humid, especially in coastal areas, with variable winds shifting to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 28 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected to range from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, and sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.

Regarding Saturday’s daytime weather, Al-Ali said it will be hot and relatively humid along the coastal regions, with variable winds shifting to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 30 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are expected to range from 44 to 46 degrees Celsius, and sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.

He pointed out that Saturday night weather will be warm and relatively humid, particularly in coastal areas, with northwesterly to variable winds, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 28 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected to range from 27 to 29 degrees Celsius, and sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.
