Ministry of Public Works Opens First Section of Street 1 in Abu Halifa Area under Contract No. 15

The Ministry of Public Works opened, early yesterday Thursday, the first section of Street 1 and Street 4 in the Abu Halifa area, between plots 1 and 2, in the direction of the roundabout associated with Contract No. 15 for the development and maintenance of roads.
On another note, the Ministry of Public Works is tendering a project for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads and services at four intersections on King Fahd Road (Street 40), as well as a pedestrian bridge on Fahd Al-Salem Street, with an implementation period of 36 months. The Ministry has included the project contract in its annual contract plan for the current fiscal year, with an expected tender launch date in early next year (2027).
The project includes the study, design, and supervision of intersections at various locations and the improvement of Street 40 along King Fahd Expressway. Four sites have been selected for development. Through this project, the Ministry aims to address the recurring problem of pedestrian crossings during peak hours that disrupt the main Fahd Al-Salem Street near the Jahra Roundabout in Kuwait City.
Meanwhile, the Central Tenders Board has postponed the deadline for submitting bids for the tender for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads, bridges, stormwater drainage, sewage systems, and other services for a section of Al-Sulaybiyah Kabd Road (604), as well as a section of the Al-Sulaybiyah Industrial Kabd connector road along the 6.5th Ring Road. The Ministry aims, through the implementation of this project, to develop and modernize the road network, ensure safety and security standards, and protect the lives and property of road users in all areas adjacent to the project.
