Kuwait officially submits bid to host 2028 AFC Futsal Asian Cup

The President of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Football Association, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, announced today that the State of Kuwait has officially submitted a bid to host the 2028 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, scheduled to take place from January 25 to February 6, 2028, and serving as a qualifier for the FIFA Futsal World Cup later that year.

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef stated that Kuwait possesses considerable experience in hosting this type of tournament, highlighting its successful organization of the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, which enhances its chances of hosting the next edition.

He clarified that a delegation from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will visit Kuwait at the end of September to inspect the sports facilities and venues that will host the tournament events, and to assess their readiness in accordance with established requirements and standards.

The President of the Kuwait Football Association emphasized the capability of Kuwaiti youth athletes to organize and host major sporting events and matches, noting that Kuwait has demonstrated its organizational capacity by hosting several prominent sporting events, most recently the French Super Cup and the Gulf Cup, both of which were held with distinction.

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef stressed that the Kuwait Football Association continues to work on providing the best organizational and technical conditions, reflecting Kuwait’s ability to host continental and international tournaments and present them in a manner befitting the stature of Kuwaiti sports.
