Ministry of Islamic Affairs: Dismissal of those manipulating fingerprints and referral to the Public Prosecution

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Wasmi, issued a ministerial decree concerning incidents of tampering with fingerprint systems used to verify attendance and departure, following the conclusion of investigations conducted by the ministry. The probe led to the dismissal of an administrative supervisor and several male and female employees whose involvement was established, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution. Additionally, necessary legal measures were taken to recover all funds disbursed to them without justification.
Yesterday, Al-Wasmi affirmed that the ministry is proceeding resolutely to protect public funds and safeguard the integrity of public service. He emphasized that the ministry will neither hesitate nor show leniency in holding accountable anyone proven to be involved in tampering with the ministry’s systems or misappropriating public funds, regardless of their status or official position, whether through administrative investigations or by referring cases to the Public Prosecution.
