Kuwait strongly condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and the targeting of commercial ships in the Red Sea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia, which targeted civilian and economic landmarks in several cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in the injury of dozens of civilians, including women and children.

In a statement, the Ministry affirmed that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a direct threat to the security and safety of its citizens and residents, as well as a breach of international law and international humanitarian law. It described them as a serious and unjustified escalation that undermines peace and stability in the region.

Kuwait also condemned the Houthi militia’s continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea, considering such practices a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation, global energy supplies, and international trade.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support, and its backing of all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, protect its interests, and ensure the safety of its people and residents.

The Ministry further affirmed that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
