Kuwait Municipality Warns Against Dumping Rubble in Squares and Roads
The Kuwait Municipality has renewed its appeal to citizens to comply with the regulations governing construction, demolition, and restoration works, and to dispose of rubble and construction waste in designated sites in accordance with safety regulations, thereby contributing to the preservation of a clean and safe environment.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, the municipality warned against dumping rubble and construction waste in squares and roads, emphasizing that safety teams in the six governorates continue to monitor compliance with these requirements on a daily basis.
It pointed out the launch of a series of awareness messages through its official social media accounts under the slogan “Build, Don’t Destroy,” targeting plot and property owners, and urging them not to dump rubble and construction waste in front of their properties.
The municipality stressed that it would not tolerate laxity in applying penalties against violators of municipal bylaws and regulations, which oblige property owners to remove rubble and waste and prevent their accumulation in front of their properties, to avoid violations being recorded and fines being imposed.
It emphasized its commitment to performing its supervisory role with full capacity, ensuring the implementation of bylaws and regulations, in addition to removing unidentified waste, preparing reports, and issuing violation notices against offenders.
It clarified that field teams conduct daily patrols to identify non-compliant plots and homes, noting that their duties include monitoring construction works to ensure their safety and prevent any impact on neighboring properties, as well as verifying compliance with procedures and requirements aimed at safeguarding lives and property.
The Kuwait Municipality called on owners of plots and homes under construction to follow its official accounts to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines to be published subsequently, and to contact it to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring their compliance with applicable systems and regulations.
