Hot weather over the weekend with humid, dust-laden winds
The Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, confirmed that the country’s weather over the weekend will generally be hot during the day and warm at night, with dusty and humid winds starting from yesterday evening, along with a chance of fog.
Al-Ali told (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models show the country is affected by an extension of the monsoon low-pressure system, accompanied by a relatively hot and humid air mass, particularly in coastal areas. Winds will be light to moderate northerly northwesterly, occasionally strengthening and stirring up dust in exposed areas.
He clarified that wind speeds will decrease at night, becoming variable in direction, shifting to southeasterly, which will gradually increase relative humidity from Thursday evening and continue through the end of the weekend.
He noted that Friday’s daytime weather will be hot and relatively humid, especially in coastal areas, with variable to southeasterly winds, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 32 kilometers per hour. There will be a chance of light fog in the evening, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. The sea will be light to moderately rough, with wave heights between 2 and 4 feet.
He pointed out that nighttime weather will be warm and humid, particularly in coastal areas, with southwesterly to variable winds, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 6 and 26 kilometers per hour. There will be a chance of light fog in some areas, with minimum temperatures expected to range between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. The sea will be light to moderately rough, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.
Regarding Saturday’s daytime weather, Al-Ali said it will be hot and humid, especially in coastal areas, with northwesterly winds shifting to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 6 and 26 kilometers per hour. There will be a chance of light fog in the evening, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius. The sea will be light to moderately rough, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.
He added that Saturday’s nighttime weather will be warm and humid, particularly in coastal areas, with southeasterly to variable winds, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 6 and 28 kilometers per hour. There will be a chance of light fog in some areas, with minimum temperatures expected to range between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. The sea will be light to moderately rough, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.
