Financial reforms for a more sustainable and competitive economy

The Cabinet confirmed that the financial reforms being implemented will pave the way for building a more sustainable and competitive economy in the medium and long term, noting that these positive indicators reflect the strength, resilience, and soundness of the Kuwaiti economy. This came during the Cabinet meeting held yesterday, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, at which the Cabinet reviewed a presentation by Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq and Finance Minister Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rafai on the state’s financial position up to March 31, 2026, as well as a presentation on the first-quarter report regarding the implementation of budgets for ministries and government departments for the fiscal year 2026/2027. The Cabinet approved a draft law decree issuing the Law Regulating Media and submitted the draft law decree to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
