Ban on truck traffic during peak hours for one year

The Traffic Department has approved a comprehensive plan to ban the movement of heavy transport trucks on various key roads across the country during specific hours, starting from today, Monday, September 1, 2026, and lasting until August 31, 2027. The Administration clarified in the details of the approved schedule that the traffic ban will be implemented in two main phases. The first phase begins today and continues until June 14, 2027, and includes two daily prohibition periods to accommodate light vehicle traffic during morning and evening peak hours. The first period runs from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and the second from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The Administration added that the second phase, which starts on June 15, 2027, and continues until the scheduled end date of August 31, 2027, will be limited to a single prohibition period during daytime peak hours, extending from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM, coinciding with peak temperatures and increased traffic congestion during the afternoon.
