Al-Mikhaizim Approves Promotion Lists by Selection for Employees of Kuwait Water and Electricity Authority
The Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Al-Muheziem, approved the selection-based promotion lists for ministry employees. A draft decision for the 2026 selection-based grade was prepared by the Administrative Affairs Sector for 2,266 employees out of 12,571 candidates eligible for selection-based grades. Work is currently underway to input the grades into the integrated systems, after which the financial entitlements of the promoted employees will be disbursed shortly. The Administrative Affairs Sector had previously prepared the lists, selecting eligible employees who met the criteria and in accordance with the vacant grades available within the ministry.
There has been a notable increase in the number of vacant grades this year, with an increase of 974 vacant grades compared to previous fiscal years. For example, in 2024 and 2025, the total number of promoted employees was 1,292.
On another note, as part of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy’s efforts to promote a culture of conserving electricity and water consumption and enhancing sustainability concepts, within the framework of the national campaign for energy and water conservation “Waffir” (Save), the ministry, represented by its awareness and education team for conservation, and at the invitation of Al-Shaikh Group, delivered an awareness lecture to the group’s employees. The lecture was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Monitoring, Control, and Supervision Centers at the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, and Mr. Hamoud Abdullah Al-Shaikh, representative of Al-Shaikh Group, along with several executives and employees of the group.
The lecture covered key daily behaviors and practices that contribute to conserving electricity and water consumption, the importance of optimal resource utilization, and the role of individuals and institutions in supporting sustainability. It also highlighted various practices that can be implemented in the work environment and various facilities to enhance consumption efficiency and reduce waste.
The “Waffir” team also presented the objectives of the national campaign and the ministry’s efforts to raise community awareness about the importance of conserving electricity and water consumption through awareness programs and initiatives, and by building partnerships with various entities and institutions in both the public and private sectors. The team emphasized that conservation is a shared responsibility between individuals and institutions, and that adopting prudent practices contributes to enhancing the efficiency of national resource use, preserving these resources, and supporting the sustainability of the electricity and water systems.
At the conclusion of the lecture, emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing to raise awareness about the significance of conserving electricity and water consumption, and encouraging responsible daily practices that contribute to preserving resources and ensuring their sustainability.
