Customs and Industry Discuss Enhancing Electronic Payments and Accelerating Customs Clearance

The General Administration of Customs held a coordination meeting with the Public Authority for Industry to discuss the activation of electronic payment for industrial exemption transactions and to expedite customs clearance procedures for imported goods. In a press statement yesterday, Customs said the meeting discussed its proposal to enable electronic payment for industrial exemption transactions through the Industry Authority’s website, as well as the payment service currently available through the beneficiary’s account on the site. This initiative aims to accelerate the submission of transactions to the customs system and facilitate the processing of exemptions under industrial exemption certificates issued to factories and Kuwaiti companies benefiting from the scheme.
