Al-Jalahma expresses confidence in the capabilities of Kuwaiti athletes participating in the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games

Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, expressed confidence in the capabilities of Kuwaiti athletes participating in the 2026 Asian Games and the 2026 Asian Para Games. This statement came during an inspirational address delivered by Minister Al-Jalahma at an event hosted by the Japanese Embassy in Kuwait at the residence of Japanese Ambassador Kenichiro Mokai, under the theme “Imagine One Asia / Imagine One Heart,” in anticipation of the 20th Asian Games and the 5th Asian Para Games, scheduled to be held in Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4 and from October 18 to 24, respectively.

In his opening remarks, Minister Al-Jalahma urged athletes to maintain high focus and discipline, emphasizing that they represent not only themselves but also their country, and wished them success and strong performances in the competitions.

For his part, Ambassador Mokai expressed deep appreciation for the Kuwaiti athletes’ participation and representation of their nation at these events, underscoring the deep ties between the two countries. He noted that Kuwait has repeatedly demonstrated its sporting excellence and potential, particularly in karate, and highlighted the importance of mutual rapprochement through sports.

The event was attended by more than 70 guests, including prominent figures such as Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee; Mansour Al-Sarheed, President of the Kuwait Para Sports Federation; and Sheikh Sheikha Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Honorary President of the Disabled Club. In addition to these dignitaries, representatives from government entities, sports federations, and Kuwaiti athletes were also present.

The event aimed to strengthen relations between Japan and Kuwait, highlight their shared commitment to the spirit of sportsmanship and international cooperation, and encourage and support Kuwaiti athletes.
