Tourism Projects Open Monthly Applications for Exploitation of Marinas and Marine Parking Facilities

Kuwait Tourism Projects Company announced the official opening of applications for the exploitation of vacant marine marinas and land parking spaces on a monthly lease basis, through an official notice published in the Official Gazette (“Kuwait Al-Yaum”). The company clarified that vacant marinas and land parking spaces are available in various sizes ranging from 25 to 42 feet, distributed across three main facilities: Masnan Al-Shaab, Al-Fahaheel Marine Club, and Al-Khiran Park.

Application Period and Basic Conditions

The application period begins on Sunday, August 23, 2026, and continues until August 30, 2026. Applications must be submitted exclusively via the dedicated electronic link on the company’s official website.

The company has established a mandatory requirement for applicants to hold a valid boat license, along with the obligation to submit an electronic declaration confirming the accuracy of the provided data.

Electronic Evaluation Criteria and Priorities

All submitted applications are subject to a rigorous electronic evaluation process based on precise and measurable criteria, with the following weightings:

- 60% for the compatibility of the boat’s size with the available marinas at the facility.

- 20% for the recency of the boat’s manufacture.

- 20% for the duration of the boat’s registration under the applicant’s name.

Consequently, applications meeting the conditions are ranked in ascending or descending order according to the total percentage score (from highest to lowest). Priority in exploitation is granted to applicants who do not currently own a marina or parking space registered in their name with the company.

Legal Controls and Company Rights

Kuwait Tourism Projects Company noted that final approval of any application is contingent upon full compliance with legal requirements as stipulated by Decree-Law No. 61 of 2026, issuing the Law on Marine Facilities and Floating Units, and the Basic Regulations governing the company’s affiliated clubs, marine marinas, and land parking spaces.

The company emphasized that merely submitting an application does not constitute implicit acceptance. Allocation is based on the results of the electronic evaluation and the availability of suitable marinas for the boat’s size. Furthermore, the publication of the notice does not impose any legal obligation on the company toward third parties, and the company reserves the full right to amend, suspend, or cancel the notice without providing reasons.

Regarding the duration of exploitation, the company clarified that it is monthly. The marina or club management reserves the right to evict the site for public interest or for reasons stated at the time, based on a notice delivered to the marina or parking space operator at least fifteen days prior to the expiration of the subscription.
