Kuwait and the US discuss enhancing cooperation in training and maintenance

The Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan, and Michael Duminu, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East and Central Asia, presided over the annual meeting of the Kuwait-U.S. Joint Military Commission (JMC), held at the U.S. Department of Defense headquarters, the Pentagon. The meeting, attended by various specialized teams from both sides, discussed areas of joint military cooperation, particularly in training and maintenance, as well as mechanisms for developing cooperation and strengthening the partnership between the two countries. The meeting also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for strategic partnership with the Maryland National Guard, thereby enhancing the frameworks of cooperation and coordination between the two sides. The Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces stated in a statement issued on Saturday that the meeting included a number of workshops involving specialized teams from both sides, covering areas of joint cooperation and exchange of expertise. Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan, Chief of Staff, was accompanied by a high-level delegation of senior officers and commanders from the Kuwaiti Armed Forces.
