Three years under the rubble: Gaza mourns the remains of 50 martyrs

Palestinians in Gaza City mourned the remains of 50 martyrs, whose bodies were recovered by the Civil Defense from beneath the rubble of destroyed homes after lying under the debris for approximately three years since their homes were targeted in the early months of the war. The recovery operation comes amid a severe shortage of heavy equipment. Weeks ago, the Civil Defense secured funding from the International Committee of the Red Cross to carry out a project to recover the bodies of martyrs from under the rubble, allocating 800 hours of work across the governorates of the Gaza Strip. The remains of the 50 individuals were collected at the courtyard of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex after being exhumed from the neighborhoods of Tel al-Hawa, Al-Zaytoun, Al-Sabra, Sheikh Radwan, Al-Shati, and other areas within the city.
