Interior Ministry urges vehicle drivers to promptly pay traffic settlement orders

The Ministry of Interior has urged drivers to promptly settle amicable settlement orders related to traffic violations before they are referred to the Traffic Court, to avoid the penalties and legal procedures that may result from such referral. The ministry clarified that violations referred to the court may incur legally prescribed penalties, which vary according to the nature of the violation, and include financial fines or imprisonment, as well as other administrative measures stipulated in prevailing laws and regulations. It further explained that the settlement process is available electronically through the “Sahel” and “Ministry of Interior” applications, enabling drivers to resolve violations and take necessary actions before they are referred to the court.
