Enhancing the Security and Safety of Maritime Borders

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif conducted a field visit to several islands and maritime centers to review ongoing operations, assess readiness levels, and monitor measures taken to enhance the security and safety of maritime borders.

In a press statement yesterday, the Ministry of Interior said that Al-Yousif visited the Um Al-Maradim Island checkpoint and inspected facilities under the General Directorate of Coast Guard, the General Directorate of Checkpoints, and the General Directorate of Customs. He reviewed work procedures and coordination among agencies operating at the checkpoint, emphasizing the importance of integrating efforts and raising coordination levels to ensure efficiency at maritime checkpoints.

Al-Yousif directed that the development of maritime centers and facilities continue, their readiness be enhanced, and all necessary resources be provided to their personnel. He also stressed strengthening coordination and integration among agencies operating at checkpoints and islands, to bolster the capacity of relevant authorities to perform their duties efficiently and safeguard the security and safety of maritime borders.
