Public Works: “Emergency” handled 1,556 reports last July

The Ministry of Public Works announced that the emergency hotline “150” handled 1,556 reports during the past month of July, covering all six governorates. The ministry clarified that the reports were distributed as follows: 422 in Farwaniya Governorate, 354 in Al Jahra, 279 in the Capital Governorate, 210 in Ahmadi, 206 in Hawalli, and 85 in Mubarak Al-Kabeer.

On another note, Engineer Khaled Al-Asimi, Director General of Road Engineering, chaired a meeting attended by representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Kuwait Municipality, the General Administration of Customs, and the Kuwait Ports Authority. The meeting was held at the office of the Director General of Road Engineering regarding Consultancy Agreement No. (A/HT/281) for the study and design of truck routes and weigh stations and their associated facilities in the State of Kuwait. Kuwait is witnessing rapid urban expansion and a continuous increase in road transport activity. In light of the ministry’s plan to improve, construct, and maintain asphalt on main roads and highways, the Design Department prepared a Terms of Reference document outlining a comprehensive study of the truck stations, facilities, and routes required in Kuwait.

A visual presentation was delivered, outlining the strategic objectives of the project, the scope of the study, and the expected outputs and results. The requirements and observations of each attending entity were discussed, and it was agreed that periodic coordination meetings would be held to finalize the terms of the comprehensive agreement for the study of the truck weighing system.
