Ceuta: 69,500 migrants return to Morocco

Spanish security sources reported yesterday that approximately 69,500 irregular migrants who crossed from Morocco to the Spanish-administered city of Ceuta had been returned to Moroccan territory, while the death toll rose to 67. The Spanish news agency EFE quoted the sources as saying that the return of irregular migrants who had crossed into Ceuta was still ongoing. It added that around 69,500 people had been returned to Morocco during the past 30 hours, with no new irregular crossing attempts recorded throughout the night. Meanwhile, the Spanish Ministry of the Interior announced that the number of irregular migrants who died while attempting to cross from Morocco to Ceuta had risen to 67, and specialized teams began installing a security barrier at the Tarajal border crossing.
