Child injured by Israeli gunfire during raid on his village in the southern West Bank

A Palestinian child was shot by the Israeli army on Friday evening during a raid on the town of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, as part of a series of raids targeting several towns in the occupied West Bank. Local sources told Anadolu Agency correspondents that Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar and positioned themselves in the “Triangle” area before firing live ammunition, wounding a 15-year-old child with a bullet in the foot.

In Bethlehem, Israeli army troops also raided the town of Al-Khader, south of the city, and deployed in the Bab al-Wad area and along the Jerusalem/Hebron street, with no reports of arrests or home raids.

In the Hebron governorate, Israeli forces raided the village of Al-Majd, west of Dura city, and fired tear gas canisters and sound bombs during their deployment in the village. Israeli troops also raided the town of Deir Samit, west of Dura, amid a military presence in the area, with no immediate reports of arrests or injuries.

The West Bank is witnessing an escalation in raids carried out by the Israeli army in Palestinian cities, towns, and camps, accompanied by killings, arrests, and the destruction and evacuation of homes.

Since the war on the Gaza Strip began in October 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank have intensified, resulting in the killing of more than 1,182 Palestinians, the wounding of approximately 13,000, and the arrest of nearly 24,000, according to official Palestinian data.
