The Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, Social Development, Family, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili, affirmed on Saturday the necessity of tightening supervision over cooperative societies and their branches, expediting the handling of violations, and taking legal action against violators without leniency.
This statement was made by Al-Huwaili during her inspection of the Control and Supervision Center for Cooperative Societies, accompanied by the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Faisal Al-Kandari, to review the center’s operational mechanisms and monitor the progress of work in cooperative societies and their branches.
Minister Al-Huwaili emphasized the importance of leveraging modern technologies to detect violations and enhance the efficiency of regulatory oversight, as well as verifying that cooperative societies comply with approved decisions, circulars, and regulations.
She directed strengthening coordination between the Control Center and the relevant regulatory administrations, and intensifying field inspections to ensure swift response and resolution of observed issues.
She affirmed that protecting the rights of shareholders and consumers, and safeguarding cooperative funds, are among the ministry’s top priorities, stressing the importance of enhancing transparency, discipline, and governance in the cooperative sector.
