Kuwaiti officials emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to supporting youth initiatives that harness the energy and creativity of young people, praising the role of classic car teams in preserving heritage, fostering a sense of belonging, and creating a safe and organized environment for car enthusiasts.

This came as Minister of State for Youth and Sports Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma opened yesterday evening, Friday, the largest classic car carnival and the Mopar Team International Season, under the patronage of the Kuwait Automobile and Motorcycle Club, at the Boulevard Complex in the heart of Kuwait City, with a large public turnout.

In a speech during the opening, Minister Al-Jalahma welcomed the participation of brotherly teams and volunteers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, affirming Kuwait’s full support for their involvement and praising the fraternal spirit uniting the peoples of the GCC states.

He stated, “What unites us is greater than what could divide us; we are brothers and family. These events reflect shared destiny and sincere love among the peoples of the Gulf, and we are always delighted to have them participate with us in Kuwait, their home and among their people.”

He added that such events represent a distinctive model of community youth activities, as they provide opportunities for interaction among different age groups, contribute to revitalizing tourism and entertainment in the country, and highlight Kuwait’s organizational capabilities and outstanding youth competencies.

For his part, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Dawood Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait Automobile and Motorcycle Club, confirmed that the opening of the classic car season reflects the club’s strong interest in this sport, which has gained significant traction among Kuwaiti youth.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during the opening, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Dawood said that launching the club’s season with the largest classic car carnival and the Mopar Team season demonstrates confidence in the capabilities of all team members to showcase this sport in an appropriate manner.

He added that the carnival saw wide participation from classic car teams from GCC countries, who displayed their rare collections in a scene reflecting creativity and excellence in acquiring and preserving classic cars across all Gulf states, considering them a historical legacy and part of the memory of generations.

He clarified that the classic car exhibition activities began yesterday morning, while the official opening ceremony was held in the evening, attended by Minister Al-Jalahma, who toured the exhibition grounds and inspected the participating cars, listening to explanations from their owners regarding their history, restoration stages, and preservation efforts.

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Dawood noted that the carnival included numerous competitions and prizes for attendees, set against a family-friendly atmosphere with surprises announced by organizers during the opening events, drawing significant public engagement.

On her part, the management of the Mopar International Team expressed its gratitude and appreciation to Minister Al-Jalahma for his attendance and patronage of the opening, which “represents support and pride for the team and all participants, and reflects the state’s interest in youth and their hobbies.”

The events concluded with a reaffirmation that Kuwait has been and will remain a nurturing ground for youth and their creativity, and that classic cars are not merely a hobby but a culture, civilization, and history to be passed down to future generations.
