It is better not to destroy what remains of Iran, but I may be forced to do so... and the options lie between an agreement and additional steps
US President Donald Trump affirmed that his country will soon announce its decision regarding Iran, noting that the options under consideration include taking additional steps or approving an agreement, while emphasizing that Tehran will not be able to acquire a nuclear weapon.
Trump stated that the United States has gained control in Iran over everything it wanted to control since its presence there began seven months ago, adding: “It is better not to destroy what remains of Iran, but perhaps I will be forced to do so.”
He stressed that the substance of the proposals being considered by Tehran would not change the US position opposing Iran’s possession of a nuclear weapon, affirming that Iran “will not possess a nuclear weapon, nor will it take any step without our approval.”
He clarified that the next phase requires a decisive choice between proceeding with additional steps against Iran or approving an agreement, saying: “You will soon know what we will decide regarding Iran.”
In a separate matter, Trump announced that the United States is very close to reaching a settlement that would end the Russian-Ukrainian war, noting that the anticipated agreement between Moscow and Kyiv would be very significant and would encompass all of Europe.
