He noted that cooperation covers defense and military fields, particularly the training and qualification of Kuwaiti students at the Polish Naval Academy, and expressed hope for a qualitative leap in commercial and investment cooperation in the coming phase. He recalled Poland’s honorable stance toward Kuwait, especially during the Iraqi invasion in 1990, when Poland declared its solidarity with Kuwait and condemned the aggression in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
For his part, Polish Ambassador to Kuwait Michal Guliwa affirmed his country’s pride in the historical ties and solid partnership with Kuwait. He praised Kuwait’s resilience amid the difficult security conditions facing the region, reaffirming Poland’s full solidarity and support for Kuwait’s diplomacy, which strives for peace and stability.
He described Kuwaiti diplomacy as calm and balanced, serving as a beacon under current circumstances, citing the Arab proverb, “He who walks steadily does not stumble,” and emphasizing Poland’s deep respect for Kuwait’s vision and approach.
On the tourism front, the Polish Ambassador pointed to the growing interest of Kuwaitis in visiting Poland due to its historical and cultural heritage and natural beauty. He noted that the launch of direct flights between Kuwait and Krakow has strengthened ties between the two countries, expressing his satisfaction with plans to continue these flights during the winter season, which would open broader horizons for tourism and exchange between the two peoples.
