Several European countries announced on Thursday that around nine civilian aircraft made emergency landings after receiving bomb threat alerts. In total, 12 threat incidents were recorded this morning, targeting flights in several European nations.

The French Press Agency (AFP) reported that an Airbus A320 flight from Dublin to Rome was diverted to the Istres Air Base in France after receiving a bomb threat, according to a statement from the office of French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, who confirmed that authorities are closely monitoring the situation.

According to FlightRadar24, a specialized flight-tracking website, an Aer Lingus flight near Paris turned back and circled over the Istres area after declaring an emergency during the flight.

In Bulgaria, Bulgarian television reported that three aircraft made emergency landings due to a series of bomb threats.

Meanwhile, an Al Jazeera correspondent stated that a LOT Polish Airlines flight coming from Warsaw was forced to land at Brussels Airport after receiving a report of a suspicious item.

In the Czech Republic, police announced in a statement that four aircraft were preparing to make emergency landings at Prague Airport after receiving bomb threat alerts.

Previous Alerts

On Tuesday, approximately ten civilian flights bound for European airports faced bomb threats that were later proven to be false. This prompted the temporary closure of an airport in Warsaw and the deployment of fighter jets over Rome.

No explosive devices were found in the aircraft, which underwent thorough inspections after landing.

It appears that Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair bore the brunt of the threats, with four of its flights targeted.

London Police also announced that they received reports of threats against four flights scheduled to depart from or arrive at Heathrow Airport, one of Europe’s busiest airports.

Earlier, the Italian news agency ANSA reported that an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Rome was diverted to the Istres Air Base in France on Thursday following a bomb threat.

The agency stated that the Airbus A320 landed safely at the military base in the Normandy region, carrying 151 passengers and six crew members.

It clarified that all passengers and crew were moved to a safe location, while specialized bomb disposal teams began inspecting the aircraft, with French authorities closely monitoring the incident.

Previously, the agency reported receiving two bomb threat alerts regarding two Ryanair flights that arrived at Rome Fiumicino Airport from Lisbon and Dublin on November 3.

Security inspections of the two aircraft, passengers, and luggage yielded no explosives, confirming that the alerts were false.

This incident follows a series of bomb threats targeting European flights in recent days, involving airlines such as Ryanair, Wizz Air, LOT, and SAS. Many of these alerts were found to be false, and no explosives were discovered on board.
