We have not yet recovered from Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz on February 28, a full year ago. The global economy has deteriorated, markets have plummeted, citizens have grown increasingly distressed, and prices have surged, continuing their reckless ascent.
According to those responsible, every price hike is attributed to the Strait of Hormuz. Nothing has escaped the surge, and today Trump is brandishing nuclear threats to break Iran’s pride and stubbornness, offering a quick but destructive solution.
If nuclear weapons are indeed used, let me inform you, dear reader, of what would happen. First, Russia might resort to using nuclear weapons against Ukraine, having suffered blows that diminished its global standing. Putin’s patience has reached its limit, and he might employ them against Pakistan, which faces daily harassment from India. Similarly, tensions between the Koreas, an age-old conflict, could escalate. The rosary beads would scatter among nations competing over borders and black gold.
The United States, “the world’s policeman,” would be unable to maintain control. We would inevitably be drawn into a vortex of successive wars, not to mention environmental pollution. If Iran is struck, Gulf waters would be exposed to contamination. Destruction would be the only outcome, all for the sake of Netanyahu’s political survival. He is the one driving Trump toward such recklessness and criminality, playing with humanity and peoples’ lives. We have no recourse but to place our trust in God, who is sufficient for us.
Yet strangely, as societies, we no longer care about what is happening around us. The situation is deemed normal, and praise be to God, life continues as usual, especially in the Arab Gulf states. This is thanks to our rulers and their wisdom in managing the affairs of nations and peoples, and in defending us with all their strength.
We have witnessed our forces intercepting Iranian missiles and their debris. The important point is that we are facing a dangerous turning point. We ask God to avert it from us and save us from it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Do not wish to meet the enemy, but ask God for well-being. When you do meet them, be patient, and know that Paradise lies beneath the shadows of swords.”
