The Meteorology Department has forecast scattered rainfall across the country after midnight on Wednesday, with occasional thunderstorms, accompanied by winds stirring up dust that will reduce visibility.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, said the country experienced scattered showers on Wednesday, noting that weather maps and numerical models indicate the influence of an extension of a moist low-pressure system. This will lead to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds, interspersed with cumulus clouds and scattered rain, which may be thunderstorm activity after midnight.
Al-Ali clarified that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, occasionally strengthening and stirring up dust, causing visibility to drop below 1,000 meters in some areas.
He added that sea waves will exceed six feet, while rainfall is expected to be light to moderate in intensity. Gradual improvement in weather conditions is anticipated to begin after the afternoon of Thursday.
Al-Ali urged asthma and allergy patients to wear masks when going out out of necessity, particularly during thunderstorms and high humidity levels characteristic of this season.
He emphasized the importance of following weather bulletins via the Department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
