The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, represented by the Department for Combating Human Trafficking and Negative Phenomena, arrested an Egyptian national on charges of promoting and selling abortion pills, as part of ongoing security efforts to combat illegal activities.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the arrest followed intelligence regarding the suspect’s activities, prompting thorough investigations and the setting up of an ambush that led to his apprehension in the Al-Zahraa area. At the time of arrest, he was found in possession of seven pills. A subsequent search of his residence in the Khaitan area uncovered an additional 385 pills, bringing the total number of seized pills to 392, with an estimated market value of approximately 9,520 Kuwaiti dinars.

The ministry added that the search also revealed a quantity of women’s clothing intended for sale, and it was determined that the suspect had been marketing these items through social media platforms.

Investigations further revealed that the suspect had obtained the pills from another individual belonging to his own community. He and the seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against him.
