The Saudi Cabinet affirmed today, Tuesday, that the Kingdom is continuing its diplomatic efforts in coordination with sister and friendly nations to consolidate regional security and maintain stability in the region, emphasizing that there will be no slackening in defending its sovereignty and responding firmly to any threat or aggression targeting its security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
This came during a cabinet session held in Riyadh, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, where the council reviewed the content of messages and communications received by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince, as well as the outcomes of meetings held by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with several international leaders and officials.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the council followed up on international developments and the diplomatic efforts undertaken by the Kingdom to enhance the region’s security and stability, thereby safeguarding opportunities for development and prosperity for its peoples.
The cabinet renewed Saudi Arabia’s rejection of all violations threatening the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies, calling on the international community to take urgent action to ensure maritime security, the flow of international trade, and the application of international law.
It affirmed that the Kingdom has continued, despite regional challenges, to reliably supply energy to global markets, relying on long-term investments in infrastructure, storage facilities, and supply chains, thereby enhancing global energy security and the resilience of supply networks.
The council reviewed the outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in meetings held under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Group of Twenty (G20), as well as efforts to strengthen international cooperation to address challenges related to navigation security, energy, food security, global trade, and supply chains.
On the domestic front, the cabinet approved the National Space Policy and the financial oversight rules for endowment accounts managed or supervised by government entities. It also decided to transfer certain competencies of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences to the National Center for Events and the Saudi Investment Marketing Authority.
The council also approved several memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements with other countries, along with appointments and promotions in government entities, and reviewed annual reports from various ministries, authorities, and institutions.
