The Criminal Court, presided over by Advisor Nasser Al-Badr and with the participation of judges Abdulaziz Al-Muqdad and Abdulhadi Al-Hajjari, and with Yaqoub Al-Balam serving as clerk, sentenced a drug trafficker to life imprisonment after convicting him of possessing narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to traffic and consume.

Earlier, officers from the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics apprehended the suspect in an ambush set for him and found quantities of hashish and psychoactive substances in his possession.

The Public Prosecution charged the suspect with possessing hashish and the substances amphetamine and pregabalin with intent to traffic and consume, as well as consuming narcotics and psychoactive substances without legal authorization.

In another case, the same panel sentenced a Bangladeshi expatriate to death after convicting him of premeditated and deliberate murder, in retaliation for his friend posting private photos of his wife on the social media platform Facebook and refusing to delete them.

Case documents revealed that the suspect resolved to kill the victim, prepared a knife, and ambushed him as he left his workplace, then stabbed him multiple times in the head and body with the intent to take his life, resulting in injuries that caused his death, according to the forensic report.
