The Criminal Court, presided over by Advisor Salem Al-Aswosi and with judges Hussein Al-Darwish and Talal Al-Rashidi, sentenced a Kuwaiti national and an Arab expatriate fugitive to death, after convicting them of smuggling narcotics into the country for the purpose of trafficking.
The ruling followed investigations conducted by the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, which led to the arrest of the first defendant in a tight security ambush. The second defendant was sentenced in absentia due to his fugitive status, after their involvement in smuggling narcotics for distribution and trafficking was established.
