The President of the Kuwait Girl Guides Association, Hind Al-Haweli, congratulated Girl Guides in Kuwait and across various Arab countries on “Arab Girl Guides Day,” which is observed annually on November 1. This year, the occasion coincides with the 60th anniversary of the launch of joint Arab Guiding activities.
The event is held under the theme “A Distinguished Heritage and a Profound Impact,” which reflects the long-standing journey of the Arab Guiding movement and its contributions to developing girls’ capacities, enhancing leadership skills, volunteerism, and community service.
“Arab Girl Guides Day” serves as an annual occasion to recall the history of the Guiding movement and take pride in its achievements, while highlighting the role of Girl Guides in reinforcing values of cooperation, belonging, and social responsibility, as well as strengthening ties among Guiding associations in Arab countries.
The origins of this occasion trace back to the First Arab Girl Guides Conference, held in Libya in 1966, which paved the way for the establishment of the Arab Office for Girl Guides, later transformed into the Arab Region of Girl Guides, as part of efforts to unify and develop Guiding activities at the Arab level.
