The Director of the Meteorology Department, Nanda Dharar Al-Ali, predicted that the country would be affected today, Sunday, by scattered light rain showers, which may occasionally be thunderous, with a chance of fog forming from this evening until Monday morning.
Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be influenced by an extension of a moist low-pressure system, coinciding with a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers. This combination will lead to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds accompanied by scattered light rain showers, which may occasionally be thunderous.
He added that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, with occasional strengthening, and there is a chance of fog forming starting from this evening, reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters in some areas until Monday morning.
He clarified that horizontal visibility will gradually improve starting from the early hours of Monday morning, urging the public to follow weather bulletins via the Department’s official website, its application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
