The Ambassador of the Republic of India to the State of Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, confirmed that the Indian economy achieved a growth rate of 7.8% during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026-2027, considering this performance as a reflection of India’s continued economic momentum despite the challenges facing the global economy, alongside export growth and India’s strengthened integration into global trade.
Ambassador Paramita Tripathi stated during a press conference held by the Embassy as part of the "Indian-Kuwaiti Media Outreach" initiative that her discussions with Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rafai covered investment opportunities and economic challenges amid regional and international developments.
She clarified that investment cooperation is witnessing continuous progress, with the participation of the private sector and sovereign wealth funds, noting that infrastructure, logistics, and food industries represent promising sectors. Both sides continue to exchange information and coordinate to identify opportunities and build partnerships.
She added that both countries intend to organize events reflecting the depth of their historical relations, alongside discussing the exchange of official visits, without setting final dates for high-level visits.
On the cultural front, she announced the organization of the "Indian-Kuwaiti Diwaniya" on November 2 and 3 to enhance cultural convergence and exchange between the two peoples, explaining that the first day was open to both men and women, while the second day was dedicated to women.
She also announced a cultural competition among Kuwaiti schools on November 6, with the participation of graduates of the Indian Institutes of Technology and Management, and preparations for hosting the "Bharat Mela" event on January 15 next year, following the success of the previous edition at the Green Island waterfront.
Tripathi emphasized that the Embassy’s priority is ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of the Indian community and providing them with necessary care, rather than merely increasing their numbers, noting the continued demand for Indian expertise, particularly in nursing and skilled trades.
