Dialogues

“Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – those are the best of creatures.” (Al-Bayyina 7).

The noble Prophetic Hadith states: “None of you will be addressed by Allah on the Day of Resurrection without an interpreter; he will look to his right and see only what he has previously done, look to his left and see only what he has previously done, and look ahead and see only the Fire facing him. So fear the Fire, even by giving half a date in charity, or by speaking a good word.”

The servant will undoubtedly stand before the Lord of all creation, the Creator of all beings. In that noble station, only his righteous deeds will benefit him. Among the fraternal advice regarding preparation to meet the Lord of all creation, we mention the following:

-Purification from the remnants of pre-Islamic ignorance (Jahiliyyah): A noble Prophetic Hadith states: “Four matters from the affairs of Jahiliyyah exist among my Ummah that they will not abandon: boasting about lineage, slandering lineages, seeking rain by the stars, and wailing/lamenting.” In another Hadith: “Three practices from the work of Jahiliyyah that people of Islam do not abandon are: wailing, seeking rain by weather signs, and mutual devaluation of each other’s lineage.” Whoever wishes to meet the Lord of all creation with a sound heart should purify himself from all remnants of Jahiliyyah. The matter ends here.

-Charity (Sadaqah): The more a Muslim spends his wealth to assist his Muslim brothers, feeds them, or at least gives them a kind word in charity, the more prepared he becomes to meet the Lord of all creation. The wise person does not cease from giving charity until he leaves this worldly life.

-Not befriending the enemies of Islam: “O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth.” (Al-Mumtahanah 1) “You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred.” (Al-Mujadila 22) “It is not for believers to take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever does that has no relation with Allah whatsoever, except [when seeking] protection from them. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the final return.” (Aal Imran 28) “Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.” (Al-Mumtahanah 8)
