The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is working, through coordination among its various sectors and with relevant concerned authorities, to enhance its production capacity for electricity and water by implementing projects included in its strategic plans, whether those being tendered through the Public Authority for Partnership Projects or those the Ministry intends to implement itself.
The Ministry is currently studying ways to overcome the challenges it faces in taking the Al-Shuaibiyah South and Al-Doha East power generation and desalination plants out of service due to their age, with a view to rebuilding them with greater production capacities to enhance overall output.
In a separate development, the Court of Accounts approved the extension of the tender contract for guarding and security services at main substations and overhead lines in the electricity transmission network sector of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, valued at 228,100 Kuwaiti dinars.
On another front, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is launching today, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Combating Corruption “Nazaahat,” its media campaign for the “Adaa” project. The campaign aims to activate and implement the code of conduct for government employees and to entrench the principles of integrity and transparency in the work environment. The campaign will run until the end of March next year.
This awareness campaign, directed at the Ministry’s employees, comes in line with its commitment to strengthening awareness of professional values and behavioral guidelines, thereby contributing to improved institutional performance, development of the work environment, and enhancement of the quality of services provided.
These efforts aim to instill a culture of adherence to the code of conduct for government employees among all staff and to reinforce the application of its principles in daily practices.
The Ministry has urged its employees to follow the campaign and review its awareness content by tracking the official Instagram account for Ministry staff: @MEWSTAFF.
