- As part of the ministry’s strategy to enhance the “Kuwaitization” policy and align educational outcomes with labor market needs, the Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, and Social Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili, announced today on Saturday the qualification of 300 Kuwaiti youth in three modern technical specialties, with 100 students per specialty, to support the cooperative sector, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET).
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Huwaili said that the joint cooperation with PAAET has resulted in the enrollment of this new cohort to meet labor market demands, specifying that the specialties are the Technical Diploma in “Smart Building Systems,” the Technical Diploma in “Mechatronics,” and the Technical Diploma in “Sustainability.”
She clarified that this marks the launch of the first program to qualify workers in the cooperative sector, noting that it represents a qualitative leap in training national Kuwaiti labor in modern technical specialties over a two-year period, during which students will earn a diploma degree.
Al-Huwaili praised the efforts of PAAET Director General Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam in establishing this cooperation to support the cooperative sector.
She explained that this step comes within the ministry’s strategy to strengthen the “Kuwaitization” policy and link educational outputs to labor market needs, as well as to open new career opportunities for Kuwaiti youth to work in cooperative societies and technical fields.
She emphasized that real investment in Kuwaiti youth begins with qualifying them in required specialties, reaffirming the continued cooperation with PAAET to develop national competencies and enhance their employment opportunities, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of the cooperative sector and ensuring sustainability in its operations.
