The General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Jahra Criminal Investigations Department, in cooperation with the General Security Sector, arrested a suspect of Bangladeshi nationality in the murder case of a guard at a plot under construction in the Mutlaa area, in less than 24 hours from the receipt of the report.
Security agencies received a report on Friday morning, October 30, 2026, stating that the body of a guard was found on the roof of the plot.
Competent authorities immediately proceeded to the site to examine the scene and collect evidence.
Investigations led to suspicion falling on a former guard of the plot, who had been dismissed the day before the incident was discovered. It emerged that he had surrendered himself to the East Police Station on the basis of an arrest warrant related to the expiration of his visa, with the aim of being deported from the country, prior to the discovery of his connection to the case.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the incident following a dispute with the victim, who had taken his place at work, and admitted to assaulting him using a piece of wood and a knife.
The necessary procedures are underway to refer the suspect to the competent authorities.
