Kuwait Team Wins Gold in Model Aircraft at Arab Model Aviation Championship

Kuwait’s air sports team clinched the gold medal in the “Aeromodelling” (model aircraft) competition today, Friday, at the Fourth Arab Model Aviation Championship, held as part of the Third Arab Air Sports Games in Tunisia.

The Kuwaiti squad, comprising Abdulaziz Al-Fudairi, Talal Al-Fudairi, and Mohammed Al-Dosari, secured first place after fierce competition with other participating Arab teams.

Ahmed Muhaj, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, president of the Kuwait Air Sports Club, and vice president of both the Asian and Arab Air Sports Federations, praised this sporting achievement in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), commending the outstanding performance displayed by the Kuwaiti athletes during the competitions.

Muhaj extended his gratitude to the Public Authority for Sports and the Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, for their support of air sports, as well as to the Kuwaiti Embassy in Tunisia, headed by Ambassador Mansour Al-Omar, for their warm reception of the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the championship.

He emphasized that the competitions featured strong rivalry among Arab athletes, underscoring the importance of Kuwait’s participation in such tournaments to enhance the status of air sports in the country and raise the competitive level of players at both the Arab and continental levels.

The Third Arab Air Sports Games, organized under the auspices of the Arab Air Sports Federation in cooperation with the Tunisian Air Sports Federation, witnessed broad participation from Arab athletes, pilots, and specialists, who competed over four days in two main events: model aircraft and gliding.

Athletes and teams from 11 Arab countries participated in the championship: Kuwait, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine. The award ceremony for the winners will be held tomorrow, Saturday.
