Kuwait Club clinched the Premier Handball League title for the 16th time in its history and the 14th consecutive time, after defeating Al-Burqan 36-21 on Thursday in the final round of the 2025-2026 season, becoming the most decorated club in the tournament’s history.

Al-Burqan finished second, while Kazma secured third place after beating Al-Nasr 38-26.

Kuwait Club’s board chairman, Khaled Al-Ghanim, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that winning the league title for the 14th consecutive time represents “an unprecedented achievement in the history of Kuwaiti handball,” crediting the club, its current and previous administrations, and all those who contributed to this feat.

Al-Ghanim highlighted the team’s success in securing domestic and continental titles, expressing hope that the club would continue to podium and win more championships.

He emphasized that the club’s plans for the next season aim to compete for all titles and secure top positions, while also representing Kuwait abroad in the best possible manner.

He praised the support of the club’s fans, as well as the efforts of board members, players, and technical and administrative staff, which contributed to this historic achievement.

For his part, Al-Burqan board chairman Anwar Al-Attiyah described his team’s performance during the season as “positive,” noting that their second-place finish qualified them for the upcoming Asian Club Championship.

Al-Attiyah stated that Al-Burqan aims to compete for both the league and cup titles in the next season by developing the team’s system, making necessary signings, and striving to defend their Asian title.

He commended the Kuwait Handball Federation’s efforts to enhance competitiveness in the league, which positively impacts player standards and the national team, currently preparing for the World Cup finals in Germany early next year.

Kuwait Club finished the tournament at the top of the table with 27 points, followed by Al-Burqan with 19 points, Kazma in third with 18 points, Al-Arabi fourth with 16 points, Al-Salmiya fifth with 8 points, while Al-Nasr finished last with just 2 points.
