Kuwait and Bahrain discussed today, Thursday, the possibility of establishing an economic forum involving both the public and private sectors in the two countries, with the aim of exploring available commercial and industrial opportunities, enhancing communication among relevant stakeholders, and opening new horizons for economic and investment cooperation.

The Kuwaiti Embassy in Manama stated in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that this came during the meeting of Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdullah Al-Fakhro, with the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom, Jasem Al-Najim, to discuss ways to enhance commercial and industrial cooperation and broaden the prospects for economic partnership between the two countries.

Both sides emphasized during the meeting the importance of diversifying trade, encouraging partnerships between the private sector, developing industrial cooperation, and exchanging expertise, all of which would enhance the competitiveness of national products and open new markets for them.

They also touched upon the “Made in the Gulf” conference and its role in supporting Gulf commercial and industrial integration, as well as discussing the facilitation of the movement of goods and products, addressing commercial and procedural obstacles, and enhancing cooperation in the field of food security and the sustainability of supply chains.

Attending the meeting on behalf of the Kuwaiti Embassy in the Kingdom were Counselor Abdulaziz Al-Falah and Second Secretary Jineen Abu Alian.
