Al-Daihani: The meetings reflected the depth of fraternal relations and discussed developing coordination mechanisms and upgrading consular services
The Kuwaiti-UAE Consular Committee, in its fourth session hosted by Kuwait today on Wednesday, explored ways to enhance consular cooperation and develop joint coordination mechanisms, contributing to facilitating procedures and services provided to citizens of both countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Consular Affairs Department, hosted the committee’s proceedings with the participation of five specialized government entities from both sides. The meetings addressed several topics within the purview of relevant ministries and institutions in both countries, particularly the Ministries of Interior, Health, Justice, and Higher Education.
Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the fourth session of the committee was characterized by a positive atmosphere, reflecting the strength and depth of the fraternal relations between the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Daihani added that Kuwaiti-UAE relations enjoy high patronage from the leaderships of both countries, stemming from entrenched historical ties and a shared destiny within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
He clarified that the significance of convening the Consular Committee lies in providing a direct framework for coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to examine consular issues, discuss matters of mutual interest, and develop shared visions aimed at upgrading the level of services provided to citizens and developing work and cooperation mechanisms between the two sides.
The Kuwait delegation to the committee meetings was chaired by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, while the delegation of the United Arab Emirates was chaired by Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikha Hessa bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan.
