The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement today that the call between the foreign ministers of Egypt and Saudi Arabia addressed efforts to contain the current crisis and prevent escalation, the likelihood of which has increased in recent days, as well as promoting political and peaceful solutions through dialogue. The two ministers agreed to continue close consultation and coordination at the bilateral level and within the framework of the four-minister mechanism, which includes, in addition to the two countries, Turkey and Pakistan.
The call between the foreign ministers of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates also emphasized the need for regional countries to unite and mobilize sustained efforts to reach peaceful solutions and bring all parties back to the path of peaceful politics, in order to spare the region from sliding into a more dangerous phase of the current crisis.
