The activities of the “Kafou 2026” forum kicked off today, Monday, under the theme “From Resilience to Development: Kuwaiti Youth Shaping the Future,” as part of the Kuwait Youth and Sports Season.

The forum is being held at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre and includes several sessions covering security, water, food, energy, sports, health and nutrition, education, culture, arts, artificial intelligence, cyber resilience, economic development, business continuity, and the empowerment of youth, women, and people with disabilities.

In a speech, Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah stressed that this national forum embodies the journey of the State of Kuwait, marked by resilience in the face of challenges and the transition toward construction, development, and future-oriented vision. He emphasized the importance of continuing this path through the resolve of its people and their contributions across various fields.

Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah said that the political leadership, headed by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him, shows deep concern for Kuwaiti youth, reflecting a firm belief that they are the nation’s true wealth and the fundamental pillar for building its future and achieving its developmental aspirations.

He added that while previous generations wrote the most beautiful examples of resilience and sacrifice in protecting Kuwait and preserving its security and stability, today’s youth bear the responsibility of continuing this national journey by arming themselves with knowledge, learning, and creativity, and transforming aspirations into achievements that contribute to the country’s elevation and progress.

The Governor praised the national role played by the “Kafou” platform in showcasing national talents, nurturing young energies, supporting their skills, and providing opportunities for active participation in societal development. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among various entities to empower youth and enhance their role in the path of construction and development.

For her part, Fatima Al-Mousawi, CEO of the “Kafou” platform, emphasized in a similar speech that the platform was launched with the aim of empowering youth and providing them with opportunities to showcase their potential and creative talents, based on a firm belief in their ability to excel and make active contributions to societal development.

Al-Mousawi said that the “Kafou” platform is committed to continuously discovering young talents, nurturing and supporting creative initiatives, and providing a suitable environment that enables youth to turn their ideas and aspirations into tangible achievements.

She added that the progress and success achieved by the platform were the result of the support and patronage it received from the Diwan Amir since its inception, which helped transform the idea into an effective platform for supporting young national talents and highlighting their creativity in various fields.

Al-Mousawi expressed her pleasure at the presence of officials and success partners from both the public and private sectors, emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation and partnership among various entities to support youth initiatives and broaden the scope of opportunities available to Kuwaiti youth.

For his part, Dr. Bader Al-Saif, a history professor at Kuwait University, delivered the main speech at the forum, stating that the “Kafou” platform was launched with a national idea aimed at providing a broader space for Kuwaiti youth to express their aspirations and visions and to actively participate in shaping their country’s future.

Al-Saif explained that he recalls the platform’s early beginnings when he participated with a group of colleagues in developing an idea aimed at empowering youth, amplifying their voices, and providing them with the opportunity to contribute to the path of construction and development.

He added that the idea behind the Kafou platform originated from a fundamental question about how to listen to Kuwaiti youth and give them a genuine role in shaping their country’s future, emphasizing that belief in young people’s capabilities and potential was the primary motivation behind launching this initiative.

Al-Saif expressed his satisfaction with the platform’s progress and growth since its inception, noting that it has now become a national space that brings together talented and gifted youth, providing them with opportunities for networking, participation, and innovation in ways that serve Kuwait and the future of its coming generations.
