The Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Monday the execution of a distinctive military operation aimed at neutralizing threat sources, in response to repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia.

Spokesman for the Coalition forces, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated in a press release: “In exercise of the inherent and legitimate right to self-defense to protect the security and territorial integrity of the Kingdom and its citizens and residents, and in response to repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia, which has attempted to target civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom and Yemen using ballistic missiles and drones, the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition carried out a distinctive military operation aimed at neutralizing threat sources.”

Al-Maliki added that the operation targeted and neutralized legitimate military objectives in areas controlled by the Houthi terrorist militia, including the destruction of five ballistic missile storage tunnels, four ballistic missile launch platforms, and a missile depot, with a focus on cutting off the militia’s supply lines between its controlled areas.

He noted that the operation also targeted militia fortifications, gatherings of its personnel, and its military equipment along the front lines inside Yemen.

Al-Maliki affirmed that the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command will continue to carry out deterrent operational measures against the Houthi terrorist militia to protect civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom from its brutal attacks, as well as to protect innocent civilians inside Yemen from the militia’s oppression and its relentless killing and persecution of Yemenis by all means. He emphasized that the militia’s military actions are consistent with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.

Earlier on Monday, Major General Turki Al-Maliki had announced the destruction of two ballistic missile launch platforms in Sana’a, Yemen.

General Al-Maliki confirmed that one of the platforms was used to launch a ballistic missile toward Riyadh, stressing that the Coalition will continue dismantling the Houthi terrorist militia’s ballistic missile network.
