The Ministry of Health referred a tender for cleaning, internal transportation, and waste disposal services, valued at a total of 181.909 million Kuwaiti dinars, to the Court of Audit. The Court announced last Monday, October 19, that it had received the tender from the Ministry of Health, in order to apply prior control procedures, review, audit, and issue an opinion on approving the contract in accordance with the applicable frameworks and regulations.
The Ministry obtained approval from the Board of Directors of the Central Tenders Committee by a majority of its members to award the contract during its meeting held on August 5, based on the Health Ministry’s recommendation and after completing the process through 10 items as follows:
Al-Sabah Medical Specialized Area 1, costing 17.120 million dinars; Al-Sabah Medical Specialized Area 2, costing 21.096 million dinars; Al-Sabah Medical Area 3, costing 23.137 million dinars; Capital Health Area, costing 13.852 million dinars; Hawalli Health Area, costing 11.296 million dinars; Farwaniya Health Area, costing 19.533 million dinars; Jahra Health Area, costing 21.020 million dinars; Ahmadi Health Area, costing 24.737 million dinars; Mubarak Al-Kabeer Health Area, costing 14.493 million dinars; and the Ministry’s General Secretariat and central centers, with a total cost of 15.620 million dinars.
It is worth noting that five companies filed appeals regarding several items of the aforementioned tender to the Appeals Committee, which recently decided to accept the appeals formally but reject them substantively.
