Ahmed Al-Jarallah, editor-in-chief of Al-Siyassa and Arab Times newspapers, received a high-level delegation from the Republic of Maldives at his office yesterday. The delegation was led by Ismail Azmi Adnan, Minister of State for Fisheries, Agriculture, and Ocean Resources of the Maldives, accompanied by advisor Ibrahim Sadouq, and attended by Kuwaiti businessman Abdulaziz Al-Fadli, Director and Partner at White Oryx, a company specializing in infrastructure and oil services.

The visiting delegation outlined the key projects and investment opportunities available in the Maldives, particularly in the sectors of tourism, luxury resorts, infrastructure, ports, airports, food security, fisheries, and renewable energy.

Adnan stated that the Maldivian government offers a package of incentives and facilitations to foreign investors, including long-term land leases, tax exemptions, streamlined licensing procedures, and guarantees for profit repatriation, under a new law protecting foreign investment.

Al-Jarallah welcomed the guest delegation, praising the friendly relations between Kuwait and the Maldives, and highlighting the country’s growing development, which has enhanced its status as a global investment and tourism destination.

For his part, Al-Fadli emphasized the importance of opening new avenues for Kuwaiti private sector investments in the Maldives, noting that the country is a safe and stable tourism and investment destination in the Indian Ocean, attracting businesspeople from around the world. Both sides expressed their aspiration to strengthen media and economic cooperation between the two friendly nations.
