The Ministry of Islamic Affairs called on imams and preachers to lead the prayer for rain (Istisqa) on the morning of the upcoming Saturday in 125 mosques distributed across various governorates of the country, in observance of the noble Prophetic tradition of seeking rainfall from God Almighty.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the ministry noted that Acting Deputy Minister Dr. Sulaiman Al-Suwailim issued an administrative directive calling for the prayer to be held at 10:30 a.m. in specific mosques across the country’s governorates.
It added that 125 mosques have been designated in all governorates, aiming to provide citizens and residents with the opportunity to perform the Istisqa prayer and to facilitate their participation by distributing the designated mosques across various residential areas.
The ministry indicated that the names of the specific mosques designated for the Istisqa prayer in different governorates will be announced, enabling worshippers to identify the nearest mosque assigned for the prayer.
